SETTING MS WORD OPTIONS (MS ওয়ার্ড অপশন সেট করা)

1.     Open Microsoft Word.

·        General: This section allows you to customize general Word settings such as user interface options, startup behavior, and default font settings.


v  User name and initials: You can specify your name and initials, which are used for document properties and tracking changes.

v  Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office: This setting allows you to customize the appearance and theme of Microsoft Office applications, including Word.

v Office background: You can choose a background image or color for the Word application window.

v Office theme: This setting determines the color scheme used in Word and other Office applications.

v Start up options: You can choose what Word should display when it starts, such as a blank document, a template, or the most recently used document list.

v Default file location: You can set the default folder where Word saves new documents.

v Show Mini Toolbar on selection: This option enables or disables the Mini Toolbar that appears when you select text.

v Enable Live Preview: Live Preview shows a preview of formatting changes before you apply them.

v Show measurements in units of: You can select the unit of measurement for ruler and other measurements in Word.

Make the necessary changes to the general settings based on your preferences. Once you've adjusted the desired options, click the "OK" button at the bottom of the Word Options dialog box to apply the changes.

·        Proofing: Here, you can modify settings related to spelling and grammar checking, autocorrect, and language preferences.


Here are some common settings you can adjust under the "Proofing" category:

·        Autocorrect options: Click on the "Autocorrect Options" button to open the Autocorrect dialog box. Here, you can modify the autocorrect entries, exceptions, and formatting options.

·        Spelling and grammar: You can choose settings for checking spelling and grammar, such as whether to check spelling as you type or display grammar errors.

·        Writing style: You can select a specific writing style, such as formal or casual, to customize the spelling and grammar checking rules.

·        AutoCorrect options for capitalization: These options control how Word handles capitalization, such as automatically capitalizing the first letter of a sentence.

·        AutoFormat: You can enable or disable AutoFormat features, such as automatically creating bulleted or numbered lists.

·        Custom dictionaries: You can manage custom dictionaries, add new words, or edit existing entries.

·        Language preferences: You can set the default language for proofing and enable additional languages for spell-checking and grammar-checking purposes.

Make the necessary changes to the proofing settings based on your preferences. Once you've adjusted the desired options, click the "OK" button at the bottom of the Word Options dialog box to apply the changes.

·        Save: This section lets you adjust settings related to saving and file compatibility, such as the default file format and Auto Recover options.

·        Advanced: The Advanced options offer a wide range of settings, including editing options, track changes, printing options, and much more.




5.     Click on the category that corresponds to the option you want to modify. Make the necessary changes based on your preferences.


6.     Once you've adjusted the desired options, click the "OK" button at the bottom of the Word Options dialog box to apply the changes.
